Music can often push through boundaries or genres to create a unique sound. Line Forms Hear, a guitar trio, is known for combining classical, jazz and rock influences.
Line Forms Hear will perform Friday, April 6 at 8 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall. The trio will also teach a free master class at 2 p.m. in Building 24, room 101. The trio of Scott Morris, Steven Thachuk and Julian Coryell has performed all over the world, including at England’s Bath Festival, Orlando’s Musical Café Television Shown and the Dominguez Hills Guitar Festival.
Morris received his doctorate of musical arts from Claremont Graduate University and has studied at Yale, USC, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Musician?s Institute. He on the faculty at CSU Dominguez Hills.
Thachuk is well known in Canada for playing both traditional classical guitar and a steel-string instrument. He chairs guitar studies at CSU Northridge and directs the guitar workshop for the CSU Summer Arts program.
Coryell graduated from the Berklee College of Music when he was 18 years old. He also performs with the Coryell Auger Sample Trio, a jazz fusion group.
