Over the holiday break, Facilities Management will be performing critical maintenance to high-voltage electrical equipment. To efficiently complete these repairs, the campus will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 27, through most of Friday, Dec. 30.
Nearly all university buildings will not be operational during this time. Access to the main campus will be limited to personnel involved in the project. All other staff, students and faculty are asked to remain off campus. Internet access to email and Blackboard will be available.
Students: If you live on campus, before you leave for the holiday break, please make sure that you:
- Unplug any and all electronic devices, including computers, printers, television monitors and scanners.
- Remove all food from refrigerators and freezers, and then be sure they are unplugged.

The electrical shutdown will not affect Innovation Village, CTTI, the Farm Store, the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies or the University Village. The Cal Poly Federal Credit Union will temporarily move to the Police Station (Building 109) during the closure.
Facilities Management has worked with individual departments across campus to provide power generation in a few locations that maintain critical functions and sustain research, animals, public safety and property.
There will be special dispensation of faculty and staff December payroll checks from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 30, at the Cashier¿s Office.
Important updates about the shutdown and repairs will be posted on PolyCentric. University Police will be available during the shutdown. If there is a campus emergency, call police dispatch at (909) 869-3070 or 911.
For all other questions, call (909) 869-3030 or email Mark Miller (Director of Facilities) at mrmiller@cpp.edu. Those with questions or concerns about the shutdown plan should contact their department chair, housing advisor or supervisor.
