Music Professor Janine Riveire had an article accepted by the ¿American String Teacher,¿ the journal of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA). The article, which is scheduled for publication in 2012, addresses the use of variations of core melodies in beginning-to-intermediate string curriculum as a way to make accommodations to individual student needs and abilities.
Riveire will also present some of her research in visual diagnostics at the ASTA national conference in Atlanta in March. Conference presentations are also peer-reviewed, and only 17 percent of submitted session proposals were accepted. Riveire has been a member of ASTA since 1983 and active in local leadership since 1992.
Riveire has served since January as the editor of the ¿StringAlong,¿ newsletter of the Los Angeles section of the ASTA.
