Hospitality management Professor Jerald Chesser, a former associate and interim dean in the Collins College, will serve as interim dean of the College of the Extended University, effective Sept. 19. Chesser will succeed U. J. Fan, who returns to the mechanical engineering faculty this fall.

An internationally recognized speaker, author and educator, Chesser enjoys more than 35 years of experience in restaurant operations, consulting and hospitality/culinary education.
The College of the Extended University provides continuing education programs to working professionals and traditional students in new and innovative ways. The college offers more than 1,500 courses, ranging from degree programs to business and management, trade and technical certificates, as well as personal enrichment classes and credit courses.
