Paul Hughes, Facilities Planning and Management, died after a battle with cancer on Nov. 19. He was 58.
Hughes was a member of the Cal Poly Pomona community for more than 20 years as head locksmith. He was an active member of the Black Faculty & Staff Association.
Hughes was born and raised in Los Angeles, graduating from Fremont High School. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army.
He also attended Mt. San Antonio College, where he earned associate’s degrees in administration of justice and liberal arts.
Hughes is survived by his daughter, Dominique, and grandchildren. Funeral services were held Dec. 1 at Crossword Church in Riverside, and burial services were held at Riverside National Cemetery.
