In recognition of Veterans Day, marketing Professor Joyce Emilio is soliciting donations for those receiving assistance from New Directions, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that offers services to homeless veterans. New Directions is in urgent need of socks and underwear as well as personal care items such as toothpaste, soap and shaving cream. Donated goods must be unopened and in original packaging. Donations may be dropped off in Building 6, room 105 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Nov. 1 to 3 and from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Nov. 4. The donation drive is part of a larger effort by Emilio and Professor Debbora Whitson to bring much needed supplies to homeless veterans and troops currently serving in Iraq.
