Covina Appreciates Rose Float Program

Members of the Rose Float program receive a proclamation from Covina Mayor Walter Allen III.Mayor Walter Allen III, a ’75 Cal Poly Pomona alumnus,
declared Feb. 16 as “Cal Poly Pomona Rose Float Appreciation Day” in Covina.
Allen recognized the Cal Poly Pomona Rose Float Program for its award-winning
legacy and continuing inspiration to the San Gabriel Valley. In his formal
proclamation, the mayor urged residents to “watch for notification of the
arrival of the 2011 Cal Poly Rose Parade float, and plan to join me and my
colleagues on the Covina City Council to be on hand to cheer the team and
welcome them as they pass through Covina.”
