Officers Receive Advanced Certificates

Donald KingwellDavid SaraguetaAlfonso ValadezThree University Police officers have been awarded certificates by California’s Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Similar to many professions, peace officers receive certification based on their education, years of experience and number of specialized training courses completed. Corporal Don Kingwill, Officer David Saragueta and Corporal Alfonso Valadez received their Advanced Certificates, denoting significant accomplishment as experienced peace officers. POST issues Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, Management and Executive Certificates. Cal Poly Pomona’s University Police Department exceeds the state requirement in providing advanced training to its peace officers and professional staff.
