Dr. Nicole Ruzek, psychologist and research coordinator for Counseling & Psychological Services, has been apopinted to the Center for the Study of Collegiate Mental Health Advisory Board. The Center for the Study of Collegiate Mental Health, based at Penn State, is a collaborative research network of more than 135 college counseling centers across the nation who, along with industry partner Titanium Schedule, are focused on providing accurate, up-to-date information about the mental health of today’s college/university students in support of mental health providers, campus administrators, researchers, and the public. Cal Poly Pomona has been participating with the center since 2006 and contributed to its inaugural pilot study last year. Dr. Ben Locke, the center’s executive director, says Ruzek was selected “from a pool of highly qualified applicants to serve on the Advisory Board due to her experience, background, and commitment to the Center’s work.”
