The Career Center will host two events this fall designed to match employers with students and alumni. The Part-Time Job Fair offers students the chance to find part-time work on and off campus. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center. Registered off-campus participants include Disney, ChildCare Careers, FedEx, Ontario City Library and THINK Together.
Fall Career Day will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Quad. Representatives from more than 90 leading companies will be on hand to recruit students and alumni, answer questions and collect resumes. Registered companies include Disney, Enterprise, Fluor, Golden State Water, KPMG, JPL, Northrop Grumman, Southern Wine & Spirits and Target, as well as many federal, state and county departments.
The Career Center is working not only to match students and employers, but to give businesses a new range of services designed to meet their specific needs on campus during these tough economic times.
The innovations include dedicated student liaisons to connect employers directly to the student body, exclusive partner mixers, “walking ads” in which student and staff use or wear branded items, and BroncoBarter, which allows employers to network and provide discounted services to one another.
“We strive to create a flourishing network of faculty, staff, students, community and fellow employers that will work together to help each other reach their goals,” said Michael Marinoff, associate director of the Career Center.
