The Procurement Department has earned the 14th annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for 2009 from the National Purchasing Institute. The award honors organizations that demonstrate excellence in innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership.
Cal Poly Pomona is one of only 21 higher education agencies in the United States to receive the award. This is the third time that the university has received the award.
“It is exciting to be recognized on a national level for the expertise our team exhibits every day. The award not only pats us on the back but also gives us measures for future growth and development as a team,” says Kathleen Prunty, director of Procurement & Support Services.
The award is sponsored by the National Purchasing Institute, the California Association of Public Purchasing Officers, the Florida Association of Public Purchasing Officers, the Institute of Supply Management, the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, the National Association of State Procurement Officials, the National Association of Educational Procurement and the Texas Purchasing Association.
