Shantanu Sharma, assistant professor of chemistry, has been selected to participate in the Department of Health and Human Services-Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities Professions Capacity Building Program. The program provides skills development through three program components: workshop presentations, experiential training and participation in an online course. The first of the two-day workshops was held in San Antonio in June, and a second workshop presentation will be held in August. In addition, a week-long workshop held in Bethesda, Maryland, in July will include a visit to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH staff will give an overview of the NIH and various NIH funding opportunities.
