The serious economic times and state budget are the main topics in President Michael Ortiz's winter quarter video message. During the message, Ortiz announces a special meeting on Thursday, March 19, with him and Vice President of Administrative Affairs Ed Barnes to discuss the state budget and its impact at Cal Poly Pomona. The campus meeting will be held at noon in the Bronco Student Center's Ursa Major Suite.
During the eight-minute video message, Ortiz highlights some remarkable advances on campus, including the GPS-based system that tracks the locations of the Bronco Express shuttles. Other highlights are: a $5.25 million pledge from Carol and Jim Collins to The Collins College of Hospitality Management, the second annual Stories of Successful Learning event and the upcoming Southern California Tasting & Auction on May 3.
