State University Police officers provided a helping hand to the Pomona Police Department and the US Secret Service Thursday morning when President Barack Obama visited the area. The logistics of providing security for the Presidential motorcade, stretching over several miles on city streets and the I-10 Freeway, required more officers than Pomona had available. Six university police officers were detailed to provide traffic control and security at various points in the city.
