Campus Input Needed at Budget Forum

The campus community is invited to a special budget forum to learn more about the state budget, our campus decisions to date and the impact at Cal Poly Pomona. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 19, at noon in the Bronco Student Center's Ursa Major Suite.

Led by President Ortiz and Vice President of Administrative Affairs Ed Barnes, the meeting will give everyone the opportunity to learn more about our process and offer input on ways we can protect our vital interests.

The university's financial team had anticipated these fiscal issues more than a year ago and began preparing for budget reductions. Over the past year, Cal Poly Pomona froze MPP salaries across the board, limited international travel and suspended hiring for many positions. With a more conservative spending approach, the university has been able to maintain operations and preserve quality.
