The Cal Poly Pomona community will celebrate diversity at the Unity Luncheon, “Embracing Change,” on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center's Ursa Major Suite.
Now in its 18th year, the Unity Luncheon is an opportunity for the university to celebrate diversity and develop relationships while raising funds for scholarships.
Each year, leadership for the luncheon rotates among the five sponsoring affinity groups, and this year's event is under the direction of the Black Faculty & Staff Association.
“Embracing Change” will feature a keynote address by Dr. Gloria Morrow, a leading clinical psychologist who integrates spiritual concepts and principles with her clinical skills to bring healing to broken people. As a clinician and author, she has helped thousands of people find inner healing.
In addition, Unity Lunch participants will enjoy a soul food lunch and entertainment. The Diversity Leadership Award and 12 Diversity Champion awards will be presented to individuals who have made a difference.
The annual Unity Luncheon is co-sponsored by the Asian Pacific Faculty, Staff & Student Association; the Black Faculty & Staff Association; the Latino Faculty, Staff & Student Association; the Pride Alliance (the Gay, Lesbian, and Transgendered faculty and staff association); and the Native American Task Force.
Tickets are $15 general admission and $12 for students. Reservations are accepted through Feb. 20.
