A little rain and a little sun are all that's needed for a fruitful strawberry season at Cal Poly Pomona.

The university's Farm Store at Kellogg Ranch welcomes back its annual strawberry-picking season. Guests can harvest the Camarosa variety of strawberries fresh out of the field for $2.99 per pound.

The football field-size strawberry field is located behind the Farm Store.

The Farm Store also sells freshly-picked Camarosa strawberries for $2.50 per pint.

Camarosa strawberries have a bright red color and a natural sheen. Their large, firm and flavorful fruit makes them an ideal match for dipping in chocolate.

Strawberry season at Cal Poly Pomona usually runs from February through April when weather permits. The strawberries are planted once a year in November.

The Farm Store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located south of Temple Avenue on 4102  S. University Drive. For more information, call (909) 869-4906.
