Student Health Services Wellness Center Takes Second in Competition

Student Health Services Wellness Center received second place in the 2008 BACCHUS Network General Assembly's School Exhibit Competition. Health Educator Fernando Diaz accepted the award and the prize of $100 during the conference on Nov. 13-16 in Columbus, Ohio.

The School Exhibit Competition invited schools to share their ideas and success stories from the year. Cal Poly Pomona displayed examples of the various programs and marketing campaigns that promote healthy and safe lifestyle decisions.

The BACCHUS (Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students) Network started more than 30 years ago as a student and peer leadership group to promote the health and safety of college students across the nation. Each year, it sponsors a nationwide conference with educational sessions, keynote speakers, and opportunities to network and learn from each other.
