Dr. Lynne M. Gangone, dean of the Women’s College of the University of Denver, will speak at Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 3 on the topic “Rethinking Women’s Leadership Roles in Higher Education.” Sponsored by the ADVANCE grant, the Discourse of Diversity speaker series addresses barriers for women and underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Gangone, who is also an associate clinical professor of higher education in the Morgridge College of Education, studies the history of higher education, concentrating on women’s professional associations and women’s advancement. She recently authored the lead article in the inaugural Journal About Women in Higher Education. Her talk will be held Monday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. in the Heritage Room of the CLA Building.
