Drivers are reminded to pay attention to a stop sign installed near the Parking Structure on southbound University Drive at Magnolia Lane.
Only southbound drivers are required to stop, so they must be aware that drivers heading north and drivers turning left onto Magnolia Lane (toward the Parking Structure) have the right of way.
“It's important for drivers to pay attention to signage and not rely on old habits,” said University Police Chief Michael Guerin.
As a reminder, signage below the stop sign warns that oncoming traffic does not stop.
The right of way change was recommended by the traffic engineers who designed the traffic flow for the Parking Structure.
