Dora Hernandez, loan officer for the Cal Poly Federal Credit Union, died on May 3 after a battle with brain cancer. She was 56 years old.  

Hernandez is survived by her husband, Frank; son, Frankie; and daughters, Andrea and Nadia.  As a proud grandmother of seven, she was known for displaying photos of her grandchildren in her office and was always happy to share stories about her family with coworkers and friends.

Hernandez worked at the Credit Union for more than 16 years and was widely loved by faculty, staff, students and alumni.

A viewing will be held Thursday, May 8, at 5 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary, 2161 S. Fullerton Road, in Rowland Heights.

Funeral services will be Friday, May  9, 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church, 12686 Central Ave., Chino. Burial immediately following at Queen Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights.

The Credit Union will be closed on Friday, May 9, to allow staff to attend funeral services.
