Student Poster Competition Winners Named


The University Research Council has announced the winners in the 2008 Student Research & Creative Activity Poster Competition held in February.

The annual poster competition showcases the variety of student research and creative projects at Cal Poly Pomona. Entries are limited to research and/or creative activities that are conducted under the supervision of a Cal Poly Pomona faculty member. Students from across all disciplines are encouraged to enter their work.  

The University Research Council is pleased to announce the following winners and extends congratulations for their excellent work:

  • 1st Prize: Krysta Olson, Biological Sciences         
  • 2nd Prize: Ge Yanni Polk, Biological Sciences        
  • 3rd Prize: Matthew Maestas, Biological Sciences         

Honorable mentions went to:

  • Priscilla Antunez, Chemistry        
  • Gabriel Andaya, Physics         
  • Kathryn Erpenbeck, Communications        
  • Amanda Goodrich, Biological Sciences   

The University Research Council and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs collaborated with the university event Achieving Our Mission  Stories of Successful Learning, to present the 2008 Student Research & Creative Activity Poster Competition on Feb. 19 and 20.  Twenty-two students presented posters.
