Sunny Lee |
Sunny Lee has been appointed the new director of the Office of Student Life & Cultural Centers, where she has worked as interim director since September 2005 overseeing about 250 clubs and organizations.
Lee has her fingers on the pulses of many student-related organizations on campus. She works closely with Greek Life, leadership development programs, Rose Float and five cultural centers including the African American Student Center, Asian & Pacific Islander Student Center, Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education, Pride Center and Native American Student Center.
Lee's experience provides a well-rounded platform for her director position at Cal Poly Pomona. Her master's degree in College Student Personnel is from her years at the University of Maryland, College Park and she has completed coursework toward her Ph.D. in Higher Education at Claremont Graduate University. Her bachelor's degree is in Criminology, Law & Society from UC Irvine, where she later gained experience as associate director at UCI's Cross-Cultural Center and Office of the Dean of Students. Before her work at UCI, Lee held the title of assistant director of Pomona College's Asian American Resource Center.
Lee is active in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. Lee has also written publications on student and leadership development for a diverse college student population. She is the co-editor of the Jossey-Bass monograph, “Working with Asian American College Students.”
