Deborah Brandon |
After a comprehensive national search, Vice President for Student Affairs Doug Freer has announced that Deborah Brandon accepted the position of executive director of Admissions & Outreach.
As executive director, Brandon will provide leadership, strategic direction and management to the Office of Admissions and the Office of Student Outreach & Visitor Services.
Brandon brings 17 years of experience from UC Irvine, where she served most recently as the associate director of Undergraduate Admissions & Relations with Schools.
“Deborah comes to Cal Poly Pomona with a track record of success in networking with high schools, community colleges and the local communities and in serving the enrollment needs of a comprehensive university,” says Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services Kathleen Street. “Deborah's understanding of enrollment management, her can-do attitude and her collaborative management style makes her an excellent choice for this position.”
Brandon will be responsible for marketing, outreach, recruitment and admission programs in addition to services for prospective undergraduate and graduate students.
While at UCI, Brandon previously served as assistant director of Early Academic Outreach and the associate director of the Educational Opportunity/SAA Program. At UC Riverside she was partnership director of Early Academic Outreach.
Brandon is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in education, which she expects to complete in June 2009 at UC Riverside. She possesses a Master of Arts in education and a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies from UC Riverside. She has also been actively involved in statewide and national issues of student access and development.
