Sadly, we are once again mourning a horrific tragedy at a university. Northern Illinois University is now grappling with numerous casualties after a gunman attacked a class. As we grieve for their loss, this event is also a reminder that we must remain vigilant about doing all we can to prevent these tragedies. While this type of violence is rare, it is important to take a moment to consider our safety and well-being on this campus, and to review some of the efforts we have made to enhance school safety.
