There will be a kick-off event on Friday, Feb. 8 announcing a partnership between the Architecture department and business consultant Maureen Clemmons, who has attracted attention partnering with Caltech on a similar project. They aim to build a 106-ton pyramid using beer and soil as construction materials and wind as the mode for construction.
Clemmons will give her lecture "Building Pyramids With Wind & Beer," which will explain the process to harness wind with silk kites in order to lift large stones. She theorizes that the ancient Egyptians used this method for building the pyramids, not slaves. Come to the lecture and learn more from noon until 1 p.m. in Building 3, Lecture Hall 217.
