N. Gregory Young, professor of Business Law, presented at the International Law Association conference in New York City. Young is researching bilateral investment treaties ? agreements between two countries ? and the implied benefits they have for both partners including economic development and foreign investment. Young also is interested in how obstacles to economic development can undermine treaty relations, distort competition and violate regulatory norms. The International Law Association is a prominent international law society whose members include international law scholars, government legal advisors and judges. Young and attorney Brian Krantz are co-chairs of the association?s Bilateral Investment and Treaty Development committee.
