Majed R. Muhtaseb, CFA, professor of Finance, taught preparatory classes in San Francisco and Los Angeles for Level I of the Chartered Financial Analysts exam during the Fall quarter. Some of the course participants were Cal Poly Pomona students and recent graduates. Professor Muhtaseb sponsored two of his Cal Poly Pomona students for exam scholarships. The three-part, six-hour exam gauges people?s knowledge of the financial services industry including portfolio management, equity analysis and risk management. It is globally recognized and considered the most difficult test for investment professionals. Muhtaseb has been a Chartered Financial Analyst for 10 years.
