Laura Chase, assistant professor of kinesiology & health promotion, received the Sociology of Sport Journal Outstanding Article Award at the Annual Meeting of the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport (NASSS) held recently in Pittsburgh, PA. The article titled Disciplined Bodies: A Foucauldian Analysis of Women’s Rugby was based upon Chase’s doctoral dissertation. This prestigious award and recognition is exceptional for a young scholar to receive so early in her career.
