President Ortiz awards Bill Hughes his 40 year pin. |
The 2007 Service Awards honored 186 employees for their longevity at the university. Together these staff and faculty members have worked 3,295 years at Cal Poly Pomona.
The Staff Council hosted the annual Service Awards on Sept. 17 during Fall Conference. The awards ceremony honored employees who have reached their 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10 years of service.
Bill Hughes, director of the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center and Equine Science Program, and Martin Stoner, professor of biology, were each honored for their 40 years of service.
Their longevity at Cal Poly Pomona actually extends longer than 40 years, because Stoner and Hughes were also students together here.
