Running For Good Cause

Running For Good Cause
Matthew Meyers is remembered fondly through this memorial run.
Matt's Run will be Oct. 6 on the Cal Poly Pomona campus.
Hundreds of people participated in the inaugural run last year.

Matt's Run returns to Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 8 a.m. More than 500 people are expected to participate in this 5K community event that supports the Matthew Myers Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Myers was a Cal Poly Pomona student who tragically lost his life in a 2005 traffic accident on campus.

Proceeds to the fund will award annual scholarships to Cal Poly Pomona students. With matching funds from, Myer's parents, Kevin and Chris, six students will each be presented a $500 scholarship after the run.

Participants or volunteers can register online at www.mattsrun.org. The pre-registration entry fee is $30 for adults and $15 for all students (school ID required).

The deadline for pre-registration is Oct. 3. Registration is available the day of the event for $35 for adults and $20 for students. All those that pre-register are guaranteed a T-shirt.
