August 14, 2007 has been distinguished as "Ziad Alhassen Day" for the alumnus' long-term commitment to the university. Cal Poly Pomona President Michael Ortiz and Police Chief Michael Guerin presented Alhassen with the recognition and certificate that day at the new Police and Parking Services Building.
