Lupe Turner

Lupe Turner, 55, who has worked for Cal Poly Pomona since 1998, passed away suddenly Friday, May 18, at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. She had been recovering from heart surgery.

Mrs. Turner, who was the administrative support coordinator in the Liberal Studies department, was widely-liked by her coworkers and is sorely missed.

“Lupe was very dedicated to the Liberal Studies department,” says friend and colleague Gayle Savarese. “She never had an unkind word to say and never gossiped.”

Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, Dan; daughters, Michelle and Regina; and son, Isaac, along with an extensive family.

“She was an integral part of the Liberal Studies department and the College of Education and Integrative Studies,” says friend and colleague Lisa Lee. “She could always be counted on to jump in and help everyone in any way she could. Faculty, staff and students alike loved and admired her. Her smile could light up a room and everyone enjoyed her sense of humor. “

Services for Mrs. Turner will be Wed., May 23 at 6 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina.
