Donald Straney |
College of Science Dean Donald Straney has agreed to fill a dual role as interim dean of the College of Agriculture, effective June 11.
In December, Wayne Bidlack announced his decision to return to the classroom after serving as dean of the College of Agriculture for 12 years.
During the last five months, Provost Tomas Morales enlisted the counsel of many faculty and staff members for recommendations on who should fill the position.
“Dr. Straney will bring the best combination of experience and expertise to this position,” Morales says. “Don and I are both focused on ensuring that the momentum in the College of Science is not interrupted. The fine leadership that Science enjoys with Associate Dean Mandayam Srinivas, in collaboration with the dean, gives us confidence that the momentum will continue.”
The search for a permanent dean will continue in the upcoming academic year.
