Virginia Tech Vigil to be Held Wednesday

The campus community and community at large are invited to a candlelight vigil Wednesday, April 18, at 7:15 p.m. in the Rose Garden to recognize the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech.

Candles will be provided by the university. There will also be cards and pencils for those who want to write messages of support. The cards will be sent to the community at Virginia Tech.

Representatives from the Cal Poly Pomona Police Department, Stop Violence Office, and other groups on campus will speak. The vigil will be moderated by Vice President of Student Affairs Doug Freer.

Campus community members who are unable to attend the vigil, but wish to send a card of support to Virginia Tech may complete a message card at the following locations on campus:

  • University Housing Services, Building 59    
  • Rec Sports Office, Bronco Student Center    
  • Office of Student Life & Cultural Centers, Building 26    
  • Career Center, Building 97
