New Appointment Allows for Expanded Focus on Student Outreach
Richette Bell

The appointment of Richette Bell as director of Student Outreach & Visitor Services in late March, enables the campus to accelerate its efforts to recruit qualified students to Cal Poly Pomona.

Student Outreach & Visitor Services (previously named Visitor & Information Centers), has assumed additional outreach responsibilities for both prospective and current students. This includes the delivery of quality outreach programs; special events; print and media publications; strategic communication to prospective and current students; visitor and one-stop centers; campus tours for prospective students, elementary and middle school groups, VIPs, and entering and prospective faculty and staff.

Bell brings 18 years of experience in marketing, recruitment, student advisement, program development and evaluation in higher education. She also has a record of success in working with K-12 schools and youth/family centers.

Bell began her higher education career in University Outreach & School Relations at Cal State Long Beach and most recently served as the Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator at USC School of Social Work. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology.

“The university has a renewed commitment to recruiting and enrolling students who will succeed and contribute to the campus community,” says Associate Vice President Kathy Street. “With the skills and passion that Richette brings to the expanded responsibilities of this department, we look forward to an increased focus to our outreach efforts.”
