Student-run Job Fair Attracts Top Civil Engineering Firms
The Chi Epsilon Job Fair will be Feb. 15.

The student chapter of Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society will host its sixth annual job fair Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Up to 60 leading companies will attend the student-lead event.

“The event has become larger each year, especially over the past three years, as the demand for civil engineers grows,” says Donald Coduto, professor and chair of the Civil Engineering department. “The Civil Engineering department helps the students contact potential employers, and with other aspects of the career fair, but they do all of the organization and implementation.”

The companies attending include: Psomas, RBF, DMJM Harris, Albert A. Webb and Associates, Kiewit Pacific Co., Kimley-Horn and Associates, according to Jessica Carter, president of the student Chi Epsilon chapter.

“With more than 1,200 Civil Engineering students, Cal Poly Pomona has the largest such undergraduate program in the country,” Coduto says.

The prominence of the Civil Engineering program enables the job fair to attract top employers. The student chapter has been accepting requests from companies wishing to participate since summer, Carter says.

The fair will take place in the center court of the Engineering Laboratories building. For more information about the job fair and a list of participating companies visit:
