Bill Hughes, director of the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center, was elected vice president of the United States Equestrian Federation's National Affiliates Working Group during the federation's annual meeting in Louisville, Ky.
In addition, Hughes serves on USEF's Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
The federation, which has approximately 85,000 members, is the governing body for equestrian sports for the United States and the Olympics. USEF will host the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Ky., in 2010.
The National Affiliates Working Group is one of four USEF working groups. The group represents the horse breed disciplines such as Arabians, Morgan, Saddle bred, Andalusian, Friesians, and others including the hunter and jumper disciplines.
