Cal Poly Pomona's men's basketball program wants to Welcome Back The Pack when the Broncos open California Collegiate Athletic Association action on Monday, Nov. 27 against rival Cal State San Bernardino.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will feature plenty of entertainment, prizes and giveaways.

Students from the Sports Marketing Class, taught by Dr. James E. Swartz, have been instrumental in a campus-wide promotional effort for the game. Activities will be going on throughout the day.

Raffle tickets will be on sale at the University Quad and in the Student Center Plaza in front of the bookstore. Some of the prizes include a flat-screen television, DVD player, tickets to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios and Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Angels games and autographed items from teams like the Angels and Clippers. Those items will be given away at the game.

A concert will begin at 5 p.m. in the Quad and last until about 5:45 p.m. The Bronco Pep Band will then play until 6 p.m. and lead students down to Kellogg Gym. A tailgate party will be hosted by ASI's B.E.A.T. south of Kellogg Gym and will feature a barbeque.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

As an additional bonus, the campus bookstore will be featuring Bronco apparel for 20 percent off on game day, according to Dr. Swartz.

Cal Poly Pomona's men's team, which has won two NCAA Division II West Region titles over the past four years, is off to a 1-1 start. The Broncos beat Western Washington and lost to No. 4 Seattle Pacific last week in Seattle.

The annual Pack The Gym Night is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 26 against CCAA power Cal State Bakersfield with the womens team scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off and the men set to play at 7:30 p.m. A tailgate party and free giveaways are a featured attraction for the seventh annual event as well.
