The men's and women's basketball programs will be kicking their California Collegiate Athletic Association seasons into full gear this weekend in Kellogg Gym and have the shirts to prove it.
The Broncos will face Sonoma State Friday (Dec. 1) and Humboldt State on Saturday night with the women's games set to tip off at 5:30 p.m. and the men's games scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
The Bronco men's basketball program is sponsoring a huge giveaway on Friday night when authentic Bronco Stampede shirts, the same ones worn by the Broncos during warmups, will be given away to the first 200 students in attendance. In addition to the shirts, students will be given a raffle ticket for a drawing that will be held at halftime. Students must write their Bronco ID number and name on the back of the ticket to be eligible. Friday's prize will be an MP3 player.
Bronco cheerleaders will be throwing out free T-shirts Friday as well during the women's game.
On Saturday, shirts will again be the order of the night. T-shirts will be tossed into the crowd at random during the women's game. Then, in the men's game, the Bronco men's basketball program will continue what will be a season-long promotion. Cheerleaders will pass out 15 authentic Bronco Stampede shirts to students in the crowd before the game and during timeouts along with a raffle ticket. Students who wear their shirts from previous games will also be given a raffle ticket at admission for that evenings draw. Saturday's prize will be a limited edition black Bronco pullover that is not available for sale anywhere else.
All tickets turned in throughout the season will be entered into a grand prize drawing at halftime of the Broncos' home finale against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 24.
As always, students, faculty and staff are admitted to home games for free.
