A damaged fire hydrant caused flooding between the Building 25 and the Bronco Student Center on Monday morning, according to officials with the university Police Department and Associated Students, Inc.

The flooding was reported at about 9:15 a.m. and the water was turned off by 9:35 a.m.

Water flowed into the second floor of the student center and then seeped down to the lower level, according to Powell Velasco, associate executive director of ASI. The Games Room etc, PRSM, Orion, Centaurs, and Pegasus suites, and the student government senators' office each had some flooding.

The flooding also caused some sewage to release onto the pathway between the buildings. Cleanup is ongoing.
