Amelia Hammond Scholarship Recipients Announced

The campus community is invited to attend a ceremony to honor this year's Amelia Hammond Staff Scholarship recipients Oct. 23.

The scholarship was established in 1978 to assist staff members in career development or personal job improvement education.

Amelia Hammond was a Cal Poly Pomona employee from 1962-1980 and worked in the University Library. She served on Staff Council and founded the scholarship program for staff employees pursuing higher education or job improvement.  

In a blind review process, the scholarship committee considered 21 applications.

The awardees are:

  • Fernando Estrada, Coordinator of the Pride Center, Office of Student Life and Cultural Centers           
  • Marsha Madison, Administrative Analyst, Office of the Dean, Collins School of Hospitality Management           
  • Dana N. Martin, Admissions Analyst, Office of Admissions & Outreach           
  • Debbie Stone, Imaging Systems Specialist, Graphic Communications/Administrative Affairs           

The 2006 Amelia Hammond Staff Scholarship/Management and Staff Emeritus Awards ceremony is Monday, Oct. 23, in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Minor, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.  For more information visit:
