Students Return To School at CSU Campuses

With the start of the new school year, more than 400,000 students are expected this fall at the California State University system. Once on campus, students can look forward to new academic programs, new buildings, expanded facilities, and improved student life on CSU campuses throughout California.

In 2006/07, the CSU will also continue a systemwide campaign to reach under-represented students in higher education and their families by visiting middle and high schools, offering classes to educate parents of middle school students on how to help their children get to college, and creating college awareness with the “How To Get To College” poster. CSU Chancellor Charles B. Reed and CSU presidents will continue the Super Sunday program at African American churches in Northern and Southern California to create interest among families, neighbors and friends in helping youngsters, especially males, to seek higher education.
