Parking Tips for the First Few Weeks of Fall Quarter

Parking Tips for the First Few Weeks of Fall Quarter
Bronco Express shuttles make stops every 10 to 15 minutes.

Welcome to Fall Quarter. The first two weeks of the fall quarter are the most congested and plans are underway to ensure  everyone who needs a parking spot, has one. Overflow parking lots will open as needed with continuous access to Bronco Express, the university's shuttle service.

The new parking structure, which began construction in early 2005, is nearing completion. It is anticipated to open this November. The $37.6 million project will add 2,378 parking spaces and a new police and parking services building.

The new electronic marquees located at the university's two major entrances will flash what parking lots are open.

For commuter students, the first few days of parking and getting to classes on time can be quite challenging. In an effort to make this time a little less hectic, here are a few tips from Parking and Transportation Services:

  • During the first two weeks of school, if you arrive between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday, it is strongly recommended to arrive on campus a minimum of 45 minutes before your scheduled class or meeting. This will allows time to find a parking space and, if necessary, take a campus shuttle to your destination. Delays are expected to be minimal after 3 p.m. and on Fridays.
  • To minimize time finding a parking space, head immediately to one of the peripheral lots on campus (lots B, E, and K). Bronco Express runs every 10-15 minutes from these locations. The Bronco Express route can be found at https://www.cpp.edu/map/campus/broncoexpress.pdf
  • Please consider taking advantage of the Student Rideshare Program. Students who arrive at the Parking Information Booth with two or more students in their car, will be given a pass to park in the closest parking spaces available. Students can contact the Rideshare Office at (909) 869-3233 for program information or for help finding a rideshare partner.
  • In anticipation of the increased demand for parking, two temporary overflow lots are available that can accommodate an additional 1,100 vehicles. The overflow lots are located on Kellogg Drive, near the American Red Cross (Building 218). These lots will only be opened when all on-campus parking has been utilized. An additional Bronco Express shuttle will transport students to the campus from these lots.
