Jose Vadi, Political Science professor, receives his 35 year pin from university president Dr. Michael Ortiz during the 2005 Service Awards. |
This year, 196 employees, who together total 3,540 years of service, will be honored Sept. 18 during the 2006 Service Awards Ceremony at Fall Conference.
Five people reached the impressive 35 year mark this year. They include: Mechanical Engineering professor John Biddle, Library assistant Marlys Buchta, College of Engineering Dean Edward Hohmann, Political Science professor John Korey, and Cedric Matsushima, assistant chair and professor of Animal Science & Veterinary Sciences.
Come to the ceremony to celebrate your colleagues and hear why they have made Cal Poly Pomona their home away from home for so long.
“I have always enjoyed working with our Library staff and that is one major reason why I have worked here as long as I have,” Buchta says. “I also think the benefits are some of the best around and that sense of security has been another big reason I have stayed at Cal Poly this long!”
The ceremony will be 10:30 a.m., Sept. 18 in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major Suite. The ceremony will honor those who have reached their 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service.
