Staff Council will present Staff Appreciation Day, “Because You're Worth It,” on Thursday, June 15. The annual event, initiated in 1979, is an opportunity for the campus community to recognize outstanding staff as well as enjoy the friendship and support of peers.
The day will kick off with a morning reception and welcome by President Michael Ortiz and Jerry Chesser, interim dean of the Collins School of Hospitality Management, from 8-9:15 a.m. in the CLA Building 98 Heritage Conference Center (eighth floor).
From 9:30-11 a.m., staff can enjoy the following planned activities: Flower Arranging, Creating Theme Baskets, Tour of the Arabian Horse Center, BioTrek Tour and Growing Fruit Trees in the Home Garden. For more information, visit www.cpp.edu/~staff_council/sad.html.
The traditional Staff Appreciation Day luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kellogg West. Cost of the luncheon is $10. At this event, the 2005-06 Outstanding Staff Awards will be presented to:

- Francine Ramirez, University Advancement
- Sue Moore, Electrical & Computer Engineering
A variety show, this year dubbed “CPP Idols,” performed by Cal Poly Pomona staff members from 2-4 p.m. in the University Theatre will conclude the day's events. Dave Johnson, director of Judicial Affairs, will serve as the emcee.
