David Herzog, clinical psychologist and clinical services coordinator, Counseling & Psychological Services, presented a continuing education workshop, “GET OUT!© : a psycho-educational game about LGBT identity development,” on March 23 at the California Psychological Association’s 60th Annual Convention in San Francisco. The game is a life-size interactive tool that Herzog developed to promote a greater awareness of the challenges of heterosexism and homophobia to healthy identity development for individuals of alternative sexual and gender identity. The game has been used on other campuses in sensitivity trainings for residential assistants, student mentors, faculty, staff and mental health professionals.
