Several events are available to recognize Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, April 27. A nationwide event sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women, Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is dedicated to helping the nation's children explore their future opportunities at work, home and in their community.
In recognition of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, the ReEntry & WoMen's Resource Center will host several age appropriate activities and a button making project, staffed for drop-ins from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. in Building 95. Los Olivos Dining Commons will offer a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for children accompanied by a paid adult sponsor. In addition, children are able to attend the following events held on campus:
- College of Environmental Design Career Day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Bronco Student Center's Ursa Major Suite
- College of Agriculture Career Day, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the Building 2 patio
- “Break the Silence” March and Rally protesting sexual assault against women, noon to 1 p.m., in University Park.
“We are all fortunate to work in an extraordinary climate, one that values education,” says President Michael Ortiz. “During this special day, we can pass this passion along to our children, exposing them to wonderful opportunities that can impact a generation.”
