The campus community is invited to watch Compassion Plays: WHEELS on Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at the Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center. This play explores immigration, xenophobia and the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship through the eyes of Oscar, a 15 ½-year-old Salvadoran-American youth, and the people he encounters on his first journey through the maze of the DMV. A facilitated dialogue will follow the performance. This project is collaboration between the Weglyn Endowed Chair of Multicultural Studies, Pomona Advocates for Communication and Trust, the Downtown Center, and the Xicano Latino Heritage Festivities Month. The Downtown Center is located at 300 W. Second St. in the Pomona Arts Colony. Admission is free, but seating is limited. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact Jonnie Owens, community outreach coordinator, at (909) 869-4689 or jjowens@cpp.edu .
