Winter 2006 issue of Panorama Magazine. |
The winter 2006 issue of Panorama is now accessible online. Published three times a year by the Office of Public Affairs, Panorama was created as a resource for alumni and friends of the university and is distributed to nearly 100,000 households.
The cover story, “Teaching the Net Generation,” highlights ways Cal Poly Pomona faculty and staff are enhancing student success by creating a learning-centered university for today's students — a generation that has grown up with technology and often prefers peer-to-peer and team learning as an alternative to traditional lectures.
Other stories in this issue highlight the preservation and support of Kellogg House Pomona; the Collins School of Hospitality Management teaching students the art of business etiquette; and two professors who have partnered with the Pomona Unified School District and the Boys & Girls Club of Pomona Valley to integrate an alternative physical education.
